Cnrl oil sands projects

The Horizon oil sands project is being developed by Canadian Natural Resources. The project is located 70km away from north of Fort McMurray in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Alberta, Canada (115,000-acre site leased from the Province of Alberta).

Since 2012, CNRL reports it has cut the amount of greenhouse gases per barrel of oil it produces, company-wide, by 29 per cent. It's also reduced its methane emissions by 78 per cent during that time. projects / mining / jackpine notes: 1 reflects both muskeg river and jackpine mines 2 froth treatment located at muskeg river base plant 3 combined capacity for muskeg river & jackpine sources: cnrl • oil sands mining and upgrading shell • athabasca oil sands project shell • jackpine mine expansion: project location map • apr 2010 Canadian Natural a major owner of carbon capture and storage technology; Managing tailings; New method for casing integrity checks; Innovative internal pipeline cutter for pipeline abandonments; Enhancing water quality supports increased production; Natural gas liquid capture to reduce emissions; Improving oil recovery reduces environmental footprint The oil sands royalty project data is derived in accordance with the Oil Sands Royalty Regulation, 2009, the Bitumen Valuation Methodology (Ministerial) Regulation and the Oil Sands Allowed Costs (Ministerial) Regulation.

President Serge Bisson of privately held Grizzly Oil Sands ULC says the company will now meet with its owners, Wexford Capital LP with 75 per cent and Gulfport Energy Corp. with 25 per cent, to discuss how to proceed with the May River project, which is estimated to cost more than $200 million to build.

The Horizon Oil Sands and the Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP) are approximately located 70 km north of Fort McMurray, Alberta in the Athabasca region. These assets offer decades of no decline synthetic crude oil (SCO) production with no reserve risk. Canadian Natural holds extensive leases that are estimated at 7 billion barrels of proved and probable SCO reserves. Horizon Oil Sands Canadian Natural strives to inform contractors, suppliers and vendors of necessary information in achieving business goals. See the related links on the side of the page for further information on how we are working together. Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP) In March 2017, Canadian Natural purchased a 70% operated working interest in the AOSP mines and non-operated interest in the Scotford Upgrader (Shell operated), located north of Edmonton. Combined, the two mines produce dilbit via a paraffinic froth treatment process. Canadian Natural Resources Limited initiated the Horizon Oil Sands project to facilitate the production of 115,000 barrels per day of synthetic crude oil. The project included the development of the mining operation, ore preparation plant, extraction facilities, oil refining, and associated support units.
